Renaissance Wood Floor Revival
Terms & Conditions of Business
1. Acceptance
Acceptance of a quotation and/or payment of a deposit constitutes acceptance of these Terms & Conditions.
2. Quotations
Quotations are valid for 30 days unless stated otherwise and are based on a visual, non-destructive inspection. Hidden defects or additional work discovered after commencement will be discussed and agreed before proceeding.
3. Booking & Deposit
A 30% deposit is required to secure your booking. Dates are not reserved until the deposit has been received. The deposit is deducted from the final invoice.
4. Cancellation & Consumer Contracts
Where the contract is made at your home or online, you may have cancellation rights under the Consumer Contracts Regulations 2013. If you request work to begin within the 14-day cancellation period, you expressly request an early start and agree to pay for work completed, materials supplied and reasonable costs incurred should you later cancel. If work is fully completed during the cancellation period, the right to cancel ends.
Cancellation more than 14 days before the booking will normally result in a refund less non-returnable materials. Between 7–14 days, we may retain reasonable costs and losses, itemised on request. Within 7 days we may retain the full deposit where this reasonably reflects costs incurred and loss of the booking.
5. Customer Responsibilities
Remove small items and valuables, provide access to electricity and water, keep children and pets away from the work area and inform us of any known issues with the floor.
6. Survey & Subfloor Conditions
Quotations are based on a visual inspection only. Hidden defects, excessive moisture, unsuitable subfloors, adhesive residues or structural issues may only become apparent once work begins. Additional work will only be undertaken with your agreement.
7. Existing Floors
Restoration improves existing floors but cannot make them new. Existing stains, repairs, gaps, movement and historic damage may remain visible.
8. Colour & Appearance
Natural timber variation, colour differences, repairs and filler shades are not defects.
9. Repairs
Exact timber and colour matching cannot be guaranteed.
10. Engineered Flooring
We will assess wear layer suitability before sanding. If insufficient wear layer exists we reserve the right to stop work.
11. Dust
Professional dust extraction significantly reduces dust but no sanding process is completely dust free.
12. Adjacent Surfaces
Minor scuffs to skirting boards or the removal/refitting of trims may be unavoidable despite reasonable care.
13. Drying & Curing
Customers must follow all aftercare advice regarding access, furniture replacement and rugs.
14. Moisture
We are not responsible for movement caused by damp, leaks, underfloor heating issues or environmental conditions.
15. Customer-Supplied Products
Where customer-supplied finishes or products are used against our recommendation, no warranty is given for their performance and our workmanship guarantee does not extend to failures caused by those products.
16. Payment
The remaining balance is due immediately upon completion unless otherwise agreed. Statutory interest may apply to overdue accounts.
17. Photography
We may take before-and-after photographs for quality control and marketing. No identifying personal information will be published without permission. Customers may opt out before work begins.
18. Guarantee
Our workmanship is guaranteed for 12 months against defects arising from our workmanship only. The guarantee excludes normal wear, accidental damage, water damage, pet damage, structural movement, environmental movement, failure to follow aftercare instructions and third-party damage. This guarantee is provided in addition to, and does not affect, your statutory rights.
19. Limitation of Liability
Our liability shall not exceed the value of the works carried out. We reserve the right to suspend works where safe access is not available or unforeseen conditions present an unacceptable risk.
